Summary

Amy’s is in search of Kitchen Manufacturing Cooks to join the team preparing and cooking our sauces and soups. Our kitchens are at the heart of Amy’s. It’s where it all starts – the mixing and simmering of ingredients that go into our delicious meals. Our Amy's Cooks make it happen on time, safely and accurately. 

 

You’ll be a part of an amazing team in our Kitchen as a Food Production-Cook, that prepares and cook the ingredients that go into Amy’s meals. You will follow the procedures and ensure that the raw ingredients and prepared food materials meet the company quality standards. You will need to use your math skills to understand the formulations and follow the batch sheet to cook the delicious food.

Pay:

Cook II - $19.92/hr. 

$1.00 shift differential 2nd & $1.50 shift differential 3rd

Shift: 2nd & 3rd shift Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 9:30 PM & 3:00AM - 12:30PM

Location:This position is based in our food manufacturing plant at 221 Phil Meador Ave. Pocatello, ID

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Pass Amy's basic math and Literacy Test successfully
  • Perform cooking and batching of all recipes according to standard procedures and batch sheet instructions.
  • Check all ingredients and in-process foods, sauces and mixes for correct texture, taste, smell and appearance.
  • Ensure correct tag labeling and storage procedures are being followed. 
  • Understand and learn the safe use of each piece of equipment and monitors all safety devices and guards for correct position and operation and any issues must be reported.
  • This position is responsible to ensure compliance with all Critical Control Points and Preventive Controls in their process.
  • Report all mechanical problems.
  • Comply with the policies, rules and regulations set forth in Amy's Kitchen Inc. employee handbook, safety manual and GMP booklet.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead, Shift Lead, Kitchen Supervisor or Kitchen Manager.
  • Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual and dependable.
  • All food safety practices must be always followed.
  • Flexible to work full time on days, evenings, overnights, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Recent experience with physically demanding job duties including consistent heavy lifting (Construction or Farming as an example)
  • High-level attention to detail.
  • General labor experience.
  • Manufacturing, Warehouse or Distribution experience in food industries is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in kitchens or bakeries is considered an asset.
  • Mechanical, equipment and process knowledge is considered an asset.

Individuals must be able to do physical work for 8–10-hour shifts, on their feet. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The work environment may be very hot, very cold, and/or very humid. The noise level is high. Employees may frequently be required to walk on wet floors. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands for dexterous tasks; reach; and talk or hear.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and assist in team lifts over 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
