Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and producing financial reports, models, and analysis on a regular basis for the company and all its entities. The Financial Analyst will work with their manager to spot trends and drivers and clearly communicate any recommendations to management. This role will support numerous processes and initiatives in the company, inclusive of P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet aspects of long-range planning (LRP), annual planning (AOP), forecasting, scenario analysis, monthly results, accruals, monthly business reviews, family board meetings and external bank and audit reviews. The ability to work in a dynamic, manual, and systematic environment is critical. Accuracy, foresight, cross-functional interactions, and clear communication will be critical components of this role. This role will have the opportunity to support all areas of finance inclusive of commercial, corporate, supply chain, operations, and accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Create and maintain detailed financial reporting and analysis for assigned areas of the business to identify issues, trends, and opportunities.
  • Support month-end close and forecast process, inclusive of accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support long-range planning, annual planning and monthly forecasting process and develop reporting and models based on business needs;
  • Support multi-entity, category and customer structure through partnering across the finance team to provide required analytical support.
  • Ad-hoc reporting, special projects and other department support as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the implementation and on-going maintenance of the company’s EPM system.
  • Document departmental policies and procedures, as requested.

Qualifications and Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:   To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA

 

 

EXPERIENCE :

  • 2+ years of related experience in finance, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods or retailer environment.

 

SKILLS

• Financial modeling, forecasting and scenario planning.
• P&L, cash flow and balance sheet; treasury knowledge a plus
• Knowledge of manufacturing financials, inclusive of sales, trade, cost of goods sold and SG&A.
• Cost and General accounting a plus.
• Proficiently skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and modeling techniques.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office Tools, especially Excel.
• Proficient with ERP, EPM, and/or manufacturing systems.
• Ability to work independently on a wide variety of projects.
• Understand basic fundamentals of supply chain management and production. 

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to transform sales and plant and/or operations activity into financial data and reports (i.e. dollars and cents).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and understand financial reporting and data.
  • Ability to apply financial acumen to a plant environment.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.



Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CPA a plus

Bay Area California Compensation Range: $75,200-$112,800

*Other locations may be subject to a lower range.
