Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Data, Governance & Security is a key IT leader at Amy’s accountable for guiding the strategy and delivery of enterprise analytics platforms, solutions, data management, and stakeholder enablement to support the company’s strategic objectives. As a business partner, this role collaborates with leadership teams across all functions to develop strategic roadmaps, deliver solutions, and empower the business with capabilities, information, and insights.  

 

As the Data Governance leader, they will manage and facilitate master data processes and data governance practices in partnership with data owners and stakeholders. And as the technology owner, this role is responsible for platforms and processes covering dashboards and reporting, data warehouse, data sourcing/ integration, master data management, and KPI development and publishing. They will lead a technical team to develop, deliver, and support solutions throughout the company. 

 

As the Security leader, they are responsible for safeguarding Amy’s Kitchen information systems, protecting against cyber threats, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This role is crucial in maintaining the security and integrity of our IT data and infrastructure. 

 

Business Partnership & Strategy 

  • Work closely with leadership teams across all functions to identify opportunities, develop and manage strategic roadmaps and scoped initiatives, and drive transformation in data utilization and maturity.  
  • Lead regular check-ins with functional stakeholders to maintain a deep understanding of business strategy, processes, and needs for analytics solutions and insights. 
  • Foster a data-driven culture by supporting other teams in the consumption and use of our data and information resources. 
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset by evaluating and advising on organizational capabilities and development opportunities 

Data Governance 

  • Develop and lead master data management and governance processes in collaboration with responsible business functions. 
  • Evaluate and lead continuous improvement opportunities for overall master and transactional data management practices to drive data quality. 
  • Establish and maintain reference framework for data, measures, and KPIs across the business. 
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the data domain and transactional systems that drive Amy’s business 

Security Planning and Roadmap: 

  • Establish an Information Security roadmap to continually assess, iterate, and prioritize security initiatives based on risk and business requirements.  
  • Proactively develop and enforce security plans and standards tailored to the unique needs of food manufacturing. 
  • Ensure security measures align with industry regulations and best practices, including FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and ISO 22000. 
  • Participate in efforts to remediate audit and regulatory findings and recommendations related to Information Security in the manufacturing sector. 

Project Delivery & Program Management 

  • Manage the road mapping, prioritizing and scoping of analytics initiatives and requests. 
  • Plan and manage implementation and enhancement projects, leading project teams and utilizing senior level project management skills. 
  • Spearhead the capture of business requirements, process documentation, and success criteria for solutions. Develop matrixes for evaluation of solution options and lead solution analysis initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and manage resource constraints, project risks, and other strategic considerations. 
  • Lead SDLC best practices for effective development and testing processes across environments. 
  • Manage change management strategy and processes to support successful implementation and adoption. 
  • Manage budgets and spend for analytics-related projects and service areas. 

Platforms and Service Management 

  • Responsible for operation and delivery of Analytics platforms, systems and solutions, including reporting, dashboarding, data warehousing, data integration & modeling, and data sourcing.  
  • Manage platform strategies, roadmaps, and investments. 
  • Direct and manage supporting services and support processes to ensure an excellent customer experience for analysts and end-users. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners. 

People Leadership 

  • Lead and mentor direct reports and other team members, guiding activities, goals and skill development. 

Enterprise Standards 

  • Create and maintain policies, standards, training and guidelines for business processes, application solutions and data management. 
  • Understand and keep current on key regulations pertinent to AK business, such as the Food Safety Modernization Act, SQF, HIPAA, and PCI, and advises senior management on how to meet requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position supervises analysts and technical staff, and acts in a lead capacity to other team members. 

Qualifications and Skills

Education and/or Experience

  • Four-year degree in related field plus 12 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required qualifications and skills. 

Technical/Functional Skills 

  • Experience in a leadership role responsible for enterprise-level analytics processes and technology platforms (Power BI, Azure, and Oracle DB experience preferred), CPG industry preferred. 
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, DLP, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and cloud security solutions. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and GDPR. 
  • Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement and governance activities. 
  • In-depth understanding of common concepts, technologies, and languages in data modeling, analytics, and reporting, for example application environments, configurations, databases, SQL, computing environments, cloud services, integration & ETL technologies and strategies, and backup and HADR requirements. 
  • Can explain the company's high-level strategy to achieve long-term financial goals and synthesize understanding of the goals, strategies, and measures of the areas they support. 
  • Has a deep understanding of the general business processes and requirements that influence the software selection, configuration, architecture, design and development. 
  • Can explain ITIL and SDLC methodologies and can implement and lead processes in accordance with these frameworks. 
  • Able to manage and lead multiple projects at a senior level, and to direct the activities of supporting project managers.
