Location: Hybrid Remote in Petaluma, CA

 

Bay area California compensation range: $18 - 23 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Details:

The sustainability intern will support Amy's sustainability team by building out replicable processes to improve the management of ongoing initiatives and reporting requirements. This role will give the intern experience with the operational side of ESG to drive efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance and meet the expectations of stakeholders across the supply chain.

  • Cross functional collaboration within the Sustainability team and key stakeholders across the company.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of materials and processes.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support overall projects.
  • Project mentorship with the Director of Sustainability
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education

  • Attending four-year college or university to attain a Sustainability or Environmental Science Bachelor's degree; or already awarded Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, project leadership, analytical, and reasoning skills.
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainability best practices and trends
  • Experience with GHG accounting, LCA, product impact footprint, or other environmental accounting frameworks
  • Basic knowledge of food manufacturing industry, preferably with natural and organic products
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines while working on multiple projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Suites Office, comfort with advanced functions in Excel.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid driver's license
