Bay area California compensation range: $18 - 23 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Details:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Intern to support our Safety Department in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will gain valuable experience in workplace safety and regulatory compliance while contributing to the development and implementation of safety initiatives. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for workplace safety are key to succeeding in this role.

  • Assisting in auditing and updating safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, as well as regulatory reports.
  • “Add equipment/safety callouts”
  • Project mentorship with the Health & Safety Program Manager
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education

  • Attending four-year college or university to attain a Bachelor's degree; or already awarded Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and project leadership skills.
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Safety-conscious mindset, committed to maintaining a secure work environment.
  • Ability to approach people and easily start a conversation in English and Spanish.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders.
  • Required, Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
